What Night Is Good For You?

If we had a team night once a week, what night would be good for you?

Mondays -- This is the Vicious Circle's team night, which means Felicia would be double booked.
Tuesdays -- Good for me.
Wednesdays -- Good for me.
Thursdays -- This is the Guardian team night, so again Felicia would be double booked. (Busy girl.)
Friday -- No good for me. Tabletop night.
Saturday -- Good for me day & night.
Sunday -- Good for me day & night.

Task Force Friday?

Hey, ladies!

So, I'm thinking that since this Friday is Independence day, and classes are canceled, what better way to celebrate than mass murder and mayhem with the sexiest little vixens this side of....well, anywhere?!

I hear there's some really big jobs to be done, and all you gotta do is show up with enough people to do 'em! So, who wants to party?

(( I'm thinking maybe somewhere in the mid-afternoon for westies, early evening for easties, Strike Force Goodness? Or alternatively, we could go late and all night, possibly with a post victory party? Thoughts? Schedules? Ideas?

The first SF gives the "Binder of Beasts" badge, just...for reference...))

(( Two Character Thoughts))

((OOC!))

Right, so in responding to the Seven Deadly Sins gimmick post below, I thought of the idea of having a "Two Unique Characters Per Player" limit. I just thought I'd put it up here, and see what people thought.

Now, I want to emphasize that I put "Unique Characters" for a reason. Character means the PERSON, Kelli is a Character, Ivy (formally known as Carly) is a Character. Nadja is a Character. An alt, however, is the "toon" you log into. Babydoll Slayer is an Alt. Crimson Conjuress is an alt. For the purposes of this idea, the distinction is important.

Maybe I'm getting a little to involved in my head, but since we have the ability to "Teach" weapons, and there are some degree of power overlap, I think one Character can exist over multiple alts. No, this is not an excuse to give someone every power under the sun, and that should be discouraged. But I think of, say, Nadja for example, and note that while most missions can be attacked head on with Zombies....others might call for a little more finesse, and she may rely on her more ready magics (a dark/dark corruptor?) for those tasks. As she's been more focused on her Zombie raising, it would make sense that her other skills have atrophied a bit, especially since she's spent 12 out of the last 13 months in jail! Kelli, as another example close to home, has no "Game based" powers outside of hitting people with things. Maybe Charisma teaches her how to use swords, or an axe? Different jobs call for different weapons, and while I wouldn't go to the extremes of "now I can be a fire/kin, because I wants to"...a dual-bladed version of everyone's favorite psychopathic lust bunny isn't out of the question.

Why even bother?

Because we have teachers! Is it so out of the question to have Nadja teach some of her magic to others? To have Charisma train the girls in self-defense with knives? To have Sabrina offer marksman practice? To have Greta cut into people and after seeing what makes them tick, offer to...improve that clockwork?

I don't know, just a dynamic I thought I might put up there to introduce.

NOW, with all these potential alts floating around, it brings us back to Two Characters. I don't think having multiple alts will really screw with people's time tables too much. As long as access to the Character is there, your RP balance is maintained. What I don't want to see happen in our group is people being spread too thin because of running too many characters. Most of us probably have things going on outside of S.I.N., in our so-called "real lives" and other S/VGs. I know I sometimes stress between running my hero and my Villain(s). That's the thought behind the pretty-standard-cap of two Characters.

Finally, the main issue I see happening with this is one of Strike Forces. I'm a terrible player, in that I stay at one level for ABSURD amounts of time. Leveling up multiple Kelli's might be a problem if people want to get the hell on with it and play the higher strike forces. However, looking at the spread, the level spread has more or less maintained itself thus far. As long as we all have at least one person in the Main Range, and we continue to be willing to help each other keep it that way, I think the impact will be minimized.

Anyways, that's my incoherent rambles. Thoughts?

An Idea That Came To Me In Bed

[ OOC! ]

Because all good ideas come to me either in bed or in the shower. Except I don't know if this is a good idea or not.

My idea was to take the Seven Deadly Sins and use them as titles for the crime school's "instructors." The seven, for those who do not recall immediately, are Pride, Sloth Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Envy, and Lust.

Now this would have some benefits and some challenges. I thought I would go over the ones that had already occured to me.

One benefit would be that this would forever lock in the maximum size of the school's faculty. We could never grow larger than 7 teachers, because that's how many sins there are. Often when people come to a group, they ask, "How do I fit in?" or "What do you need?" Well, this would give us something to tell them: We need someone to teach our Wrath classes, or or Envy, or what have you.

Some of the Sins may seem undesirable, but to me, they all provide adventures and plot hooks. Gluttony does not have be about getting fat -- Gluttony is about consumption: consuming something that other people need. So, for example, think about a Vampire faculty member for Gluttony, a soul-drainer, a cannibal of some sort, or even some kind of cosmic entity like Galactus. OK, so Galactus is not going to join Sigma Iota Nu, but you get the idea. Eating planets is totally Gluttony!

One of the things that made the Hellfire Club so cool (back when it was cool) was their titles. And using the Seven Deadly Sins as titles would add a little style and cool factor to our high ranking members. Charisma, as our cat burglar, would naturally get Greed. And Nadja, as the Headmistress, would insist on Pride. I'm not sure, but Greta's sadistic habits -- as cool as she may be on the outside -- may qualify her for Wrath. I'm not sure. Kelli is a Senior Sister now, perhaps she should have Lust. I know, I know, Lust is like Mr. Black -- it is the title everyone wants.

Staff who don't teach -- like Sibrina -- wouldn't need to worry about titles like this. It's basically a dom thing, and it helps mark out who the bosses in the Sorority are. But it could create a couple of challenges. Not only might some of our current faculty seem like poor fits for the rubric, but it is possible that new people would not want the sins that remain unclaimed. After all, if we assign Greed, Lust, Wrath and Pride as I first suggested, that leaves only three: Gluttony, Sloth, and Envy. Personally, I think Envy could be responsible for all those kidnapping missions of pretty reporters and starlets -- lots of crime potential in Envy -- but other newcomers might not agree. Perhaps we should limit the titles to one per player, to make them as open as possible to newcomers. This would mean Kelli would not get Lust, since Kelli's player already has Charisma/Greed. And that would open up one more title to new people.

That's the basic idea: the teachers in the school occupy "seats" according to the Seven Deadly Sins, and these are roles passed down from one teacher to another in the event a teacher becomes inactive. We would just move the title over and we'd have a new Lust or a new Envy or what have you. That teacher would ICly use her title as a theme for the classes she teaches. So Wrath might take us on mayhem missions, Greed would handle the Bank Job, and so on. There's plenty of room for overlap, and that could allow for some cooperation or even rivalries once we get enough people for sweet internal politics like the Hellfire Club.

I'm sure there are some challenges I have not thought of, but before proceeding any further with this idea I wanted to run it past the group and hear your thoughts.

Vicious Circle on Monday Night

The Vicious Circle has asked to team with us Monday night, starting at 9 ET/6 PT.

I am speaking with Dorian St. German and his partner the Baron about a permanent coalition between the Circle and our House. Dorian has written up a contract ensuring that the Circle -- many of whom are vicious sociopaths -- will not harm any of us.

I will be there Monday night; I hope you can join us.

The Treasure Box

Today I talked about this blog with Kelli and Carly, and they convinced me that having two blogs was the way to go. The first -- this one -- can be seen and read by everyone, and anyone can comment to it. It is the primary way we talk to one another and coordinate events.

However, we have a second blog which is a place to put stories, letters, or other notes which are not for public viewing. In other words, it is for adult content.

I have created that blog: it is called SIN's Treasure Chest. Only blog authors can see it or post to it. When you send me your email address (see the note below) I will add you as a blog author for the Treasure Chest. There, we can all store our naughty writings for the entertainment and constructive criticism of our fellow girls.

You! Send me your Email!

Every girl in the Sorority should be able to post to this blog. But for that to happen, I need your email address so I can add you as a blog author.

Send your preferred email address to sonja dot fulmo at gmail dot com.

Welcome!

Welcome, girls, to our blog.

Most supergroups -- hero or villain -- have forums to keep everyone up to date and communicating and forums work great for large groups. But we're small and are always going to be fairly small -- and if we had a forum it would just stay largely empty most of the time. Newcomers would see a lot of ancient posts with no comments and think we aren't active.

A blog is much more in line with what we do on a daily basis. We can all post to it, say hi, tell everyone our schedule, and propose ideas for what we would like to do. If someone gets good news, she can share it with us all here. And when one of us needs to alert everyone to something important -- or just ask a question -- this is the place to do it.

We do have a permanent place to put important information, such as the sort of stuff that potential recruits might want to see. That is our VirtueVerse page, which is linked on the right.
