I just want to apologize to everyone for not being around the last couple of days. I have not logged on at all, on any of my alts, so please do not think I have anything against you all! It's turned into a very trying week here, and I'll spare you the laundry list. I actually have had time to log on, but have been so grouchy and antisocial that, were I to do so, you would find me poor company.
On an unrelated note, there was some hands-on playing of both Champions Online and DC Universe Online lately. The former is now aiming at a Spring 09 release, and the latter for Winter of 09. Everyone's talking about the cell art for CO looking straight out of a comic, but I guess I am waiting for some videos instead of just screenshots. I also want to see some cute girl superheroes, and not all these big meaty Hulk-types, because we all know that that's the kind of hero I'm going to want to play!
DCU is apparently supporting villain PCs right off the bat, which CO will not do. Both seem to be designed for consoles as well as keyboards, and everyone says they are getting the controls to be very easy and intuitive, but I suck at console games so I may be the last holdout for keyboards, I don't know. Handsets also suggest Vent or some other in-game mechanic for voice chat, which would be a plunge for me. But I guess if everyone else is doing it ...
Anyhow, just rambling. I hope to surface back in the Isles in the next few days. In the meantime, all my love and keep the faith. -- Sonja

I read yesterday that they're supposed to be doing live demos of Champion at Gen Con, so I'll try to waggle the press pass and get some play time in on it.
