My priorities are:
- A new lounge built around the control table, with plenty of comfortable seating, well lit, and pretty. One side of the lounge will include a bar, not only for us but so that the lounge can function as a place for us to invite over our allies and coalition partners.
- A science/technical area for our scientists and doctors (Alice, Greta, and Marilin). This will be in the workshop area. The storage vault and invention table will be switched from arcane to tech to help accomodate this RP area.
- Decoration of the teleport chamber into an occult workspace, primarily for Nadja but also for any other magical characters we have and the occasioal magical working (such as we saw with Yuri's departure).
As part of my intended redecoration, the current lounge area and its adjoining space will be converted into a kitchen and a library. The reception area will remain, with Sibrina's desk.

Awesome!!
The only "useful" item I'm missing is Enhancement storage. Itd be nice to be able to "self transfer" enhancements from character to character, as well as store some things for down the line. On that note, Charisma has most of the creation badges up through 35, so if anyone needs generic IOs, get at me!
Otherwise...thanks for the update, I confirm the awesomeness of all ideas.
I'm on board wth all of that. Although... I would think Enhancement storage is better than Insp storage. What with insp combining, plus the drop rate at higher levels, we shouldn't be hurting for insps much at all.
*cheers base improvments and agrees with Ali's assessment of our resources*
Also seconding the desire for Enhancement storage over INSP storage.
Enhancement Storage > Inspiration storage.
Also having designed to major groups there are a lot of little tricks that can really amp the base.
Base on my own experiences..
Empowerment Stations: Cute, nifty, but not nessecary until we have true power and control rooms
Power Room: Recommending using the arcane look, since we are in cap au diable, tapping into the orange pipes of doom makes some level of sense, and using some of the sewer pieces there. It can also be used to an extent for Dr. Octavia's room. As an aside, I doubt we would ever have to upgrade from the Tier 1 power. the entire VC base at current with all it has still runs on that with room to spare. The 2x2 power room works nicely.
Control Room: I'd recommend computers rather than arcane. The Arcane control items have a larger footprint on the tiles so you can't get as much bang for your buck in what you lay out. The 1x4 Control room or 2x2 really are the best cost to space ratio. Dont try for larger, it's never really needed. Especially once we can afford a supercomputer.
Bases can and will be an exercise in frustration. If you can't plan it all in your head. Use Excel or some other form of doing a grid map to figure out WTF you are going to place where. Doorways will annoy you and don't even try to think of moving rooms from one location to another. It'll make you want to cry. I know I have. =)
For purely decorative standpoints. Ignore the rooms labeled "Decorative" unless you plan to use larger than a 3x3 which doesnt often happen on an 8x8 map. Use the 3x3 oversight center at 50K prestige each, rather than the 150k Prestige for the normal decorative rooms. 3x3s make GREAT Dorms with rooms along the walls and a common room in the center.
I would start to talk about using magic desks but...well that just is an entire conversation to itself.
Those are just some thoughts in my head on the whole thing. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Inspiration storage removed; enhancement table added.
I have expanded our floorplan with a power room and control room. A generator is installed in the power room, but we are about 90,000 prestige shy of the control. It will come.
We have a space reserved in our current floorplan for a medical bay. It will extend out of the teleporter room.
Felicia, thanks for your advice re: arcane vs. tech. I will almost certainly take you up on that.
The batteries in my mouse died, forcing me to suspend work. Will resume tonight!
Yeah, Felicia knows exactly what she is talking about with the base make up... (if you could only see how badass the SG base is we are in).
Otherwise, don't bother too much with extra stuff until the important things are nice and settled, but definatly make room for things to come... when it comes to base building, planning ahead is the only way to get it done.
