(( OOC!))
Right, so as I was trying to come up with a Greed-based costume for Charisma...I got to thinking. There are seven deadly sins, seven faculty members...and seven colors in the spectrum. How do people feel about each sin having a color associated with it? The idea would be that the Faculty member's costume feature this color in some capacity, and each of their students would incorporate it in some way, left to the discretion of the teacher/student, or whatever politics they have amongst themselves.
The only two I know of so far are
Pride - Red (because Nadja claimed it!)
Envy - Green (because of being "green with envy")
Left over are Sloth, Gluttony, Lust, Wrath, and Greed. The colors are Orange, Yellow, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. It'd be nice if we didn't have to resort to black, white, grey, or pink, but I'm certainly not opposed to the idea.
What does everyone else think?!

Good luck getting Alice or Greta to wear anything besides black. It's like Reservoir Dogs -- everyone wants to be Ms. Black!
And, really, Wrath should wear red.
I saw on our blog page that Dia had taken purple. It seems to me that purple -- as the royal color -- is suited to Pride better than red, which is the color of anger.
Any chance of a switch?
PS: Sloth should be blue; Saphira is playing up Sloth as "depression."
I may ask for Orange for Greed if no one else took it, since greed is what the Orange Lanterns in GL represent. Yes, I'm that dorky.
Well, in terms of the classic sins:
Pride should probably be purple, the Royal color.
Lust should be red. Historically, red was the color of prostitution.
Envy works well as green.
Gluttony ... much as I try, I can't find a color to really match gluttony. Yellow doesn't really fit anyone.
Sloth blue would be fitting
Wrath should probably be a light orange, which corresponds with a thirst for action. Orange has no real historical meaning, however.
Greed should probably be yellow/gold, because it's fitting. Alternatively, greed could simply pick a lighter version of someone else's color.
... that said, Dr. Qiang already has a costume that I'd be loath to change. And I'm not going to stand between Wrath and Lust as they fight over who gets to use red. ;)
I am perfectly OK with switching Purple with Red.
(Besides, Dia looks rather silly with purple skin in her Succubus form)
*spends about three seconds envisioning Dr. Octavia in a bright yellow spider suit and bursts into uncontrolled laughter*
I uploaded and linked some images to the SIN Virtueverse page. They don't QUITE have the same rainbow colors (there's two reds and a pink) but I do think they make a rather classic statement on the pages.
I think the only way to approach this without forcing the last-posters to take the colors no one wants is to:
a) Broaden the color list so that it does not necessarily include the 7 colors of the rainbow. We're not CareBears. This way, Charisma can just be "gold" and so on.
b) The whole thing has to be optional. As beautiful as that portrait of "Gluttony" is, there is simply no way I am going to order Alice to wear Pink. Or any other color for that matter. So it has to be optional. I don't want to require it for all students and faculty.
A faculty mentor can of course order her girls to wear her color. But a faculty member can "opt out" of the color selection. If she "opts in" she can pick any single color no one else has taken -- and shades count as different colors. So we can have sky blue and navy, for example, worn by two different professors.
That's a wonderful solution.
And, Pink works for Lust too.
It is the color of certain body parts after all.
Huh. While I like the Color idea, would it be possible to utilize it primarily in the 'Faculty Chair costume', instead of all of the clothing? I know I'm being petulant here, but, a big theme with Greta's clothing thus far has been tapping into the 'Nazi Dominatrix' cliche, lots of black leather and buckles combined with a vaguely S.S./militaristic bent. Orange...doesn't really work there.
I -could- see it working nicely with Greta's "Chair of Wrath" costume, though, since, well, you stick enough spikes and sharp stuff onto your body, and you could color them polka-dotted. They'd still look like angry spiky bits.
This is definitely just for your "Faculty Chair" costume. I'm the Crimson Conjuress, for chrissakes, my costume has to be Crimson!
But I can turn my Roman armor purple out of deference to Pride.
Well, instead of having the entire costume a partcluar color for the Staff/Faculty, just have a small piece change in the color.
So, in the entire costume, you have a orange design, or an orange something that's out of the way on the costume?
Or, you can represent the color through the students entirely, so the teacher can wear what she wants, but the student has to have the teacher's color(s) in the uniform.
